The
continuing argument between the other two major political
parties, and the media hype, have progressively divorced the
electorate from making a decision on Britain's future based
on real facts on the Euro.
Liberal
Democrats believe that this continuing debate is destructive
and must be brought to an early conclusion with a referendum.
Liberal Democrats are the only major party that supports the
earliest possible referendum.
Yvonne
Emmerson-Peirce said: "I believe it is extremely undemocratic,
arrogant and dangerous for any political party not to allow
the electorate to decide this important and irreversible decision
for the future of Britain. The population needs to have an
informed debate and reach the earliest possible conclusion
before the proposed enlargement of the EU takes place."
